International competition is the bread and butter of the Dota 2 esports circuit, but every now and then some vital regional events pop up. Such is the case with ESL Challenger China Season 3, which features all of the best in China battling for one Esports World Cup spot!
Here’s everything you need to know.
ESL Challenger China Season 3 Schedule & Format
Regional Dota 2 action takes center stage at ESL Challenger China Season 3, where eight of the best Chinese teams compete for the lion’s share of a $172,000 prize pool, and, more importantly, a spot at the Esports World Cup 2026!
The event is a brief one, running for just one weekend, from 1 to 3 May. With just eight teams, it’s also a simple double elimination playoff bracket. All the teams start at the upper bracket and two series losses mean elimination – last one standing is the winner and claims the coveted Esports World Cup spot. However, as Xtreme Gaming have already qualified, if they win, the runner up will secure the spot instead.
