Best Dota 2 Teams in 2026

Dota 2’s competitive scene is largely split into regions. The best teams often face off at international events, but a large part of the competition is confined within regions, especially for qualification events that decide which teams are invited to large tournaments. So, let’s take a look at which teams are the best in their region.

Best North American Dota 2 Teams

The home of Valve has sometimes been referred to as a “dead” region. The number of esports teams and level of competition has fluctuated over the years, and in 2026, things aren’t looking good, as just one professional team represents competitive Dota 2 in North America.

With the exit of Shopify Rebellion in the second half of 2025, only GamerLegion are left representing North America at international events. They dominate regional qualifiers, but on the global stage, things get much more tricky.

Their most recent event, DreamLeague Season 28, saw them tumble out in 13th-14th place, just shy of last spot. Although they did secure some impressive map wins against Spirit, XG, and Falcons, so there is some hope.

Best South American Dota 2 Teams

South America is in an interesting spot. Like NA, they mainly have one representative on the international stage, Heroic. However, their results have been much better and the squad often puts up a good fight.

Most notably, Heroic won FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 back in October 2025 and have had a decent start to 2026, with 5th-6th placings at both BLAST Slam VI and PGL Wallachia Season 7.

There’s also more hope for South American fans beyond just Heroic. Pain Gaming entered Dota 2 in Feb 2026, signing an impressive Peruvian roster, headlined by Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera and Elvis “Scofield” Peña. The team is still in its early stages, but could prove to be another strong competitor from the region.

Best European Dota 2 Teams

Known as the most competitive region in Dota 2, Western Europe is filled to the brim with talent. Team Liquid and Tundra Esports are the two that stand out the most in 2026, with consistent top finishes and trophies under their belts following TI 14. Both teams enter every event as key favorites and we’ll no doubt see them picking up many trophies throughout 2026.

However, that’s not all for Europe. We can forget about the legendary Team Falcons, the reigning The International champions. They have slowed down a little coming into 2026, with back to back 5th place finishes at BLAST Slam VI and DreamLeague Season 28, but they’re always in with a very good shot to win and match and event.

Last but not least, there’s also Na`Vi and Mouz. The former coming up with an exciting roster of new blood, while the latter combines some of the most experienced Dota players into a very powerful roster. Both have been making waves, with Mouz even winning PGL Wallachia Season 6, and could easily become the next best teams.

Best CIS Dota 2 Teams

Much like Europe, the CIS region is filled with a ton of top teams and a rich Dota 2 history. Aurora, Spirit, Parivision, BetBoom, and Team Yandex are all absolute top teams that could win any event they go to.

From the mindblowing history of Spirit to the new blood of Aurora and Team Yandex, the region continued to live and breathe Dota. There’s no lack of top players in CIS, and 2026 looks to be very bright for the region, with every event of the year so far having a CIS team in the grand final.

It’s just a matter of time until the region starts winning trophies this year, and there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing a lot of that.

Best Chinese Dota 2 Teams

Despite being a historically dominant region, China has had a rough few years in Dota. However, things turned around in 2025, with the rise of Xtreme Gaming, headlined by a proper return of Wang “Ame” Chunyu.

We can’t forget Xtreme’s miracle run at TI 14, which ended with a heartbreaking grand finals loss. This has, hopefully, given the team extra energy and motivation, however, with TI 15 heading to Shanghai, where Ame could finally secure his crown in front of a home crowd.

Looking beyond just Xtreme, other impressive teams have stepped up. Yakult Brothers and Vici Gaming have both shown some good results in international events and are just a step or two away from being able to threaten the top dogs.

Best Southeast Asian Dota 2 Teams

South-East Asian Dota is always a bit of a mixed bag. Teams go, teams come, sometimes they’re winning Tier 1 events, and sometimes they’re coming dead last.

The two key representatives of the region right now are OG, featuring an impressive Filipino lineup and the up-and-coming Rekonix, bringing some fresh faces from Indonesia to the international Dota 2 scene. OG have been the better of the two, most recently securing a solid 3rd-4th finish at BLAST Slam VI.

Beyond just the teams, however, Southeast Asian players are making waves. Most notably, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon has been a standout player for Tundra, while Chung “Ws” Wei Shen has been performing well in Aurora and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng is making a comeback with Mouz.
