blast slam vii everything you need to know

BLAST Slam continues its Dota 2 circuit with another event coming our way in late May! Once again we’ll see the best of the best battle it out, this time for the BLAST Slam VII title.

Here’s everything you need to know.

BLAST Slam VII Schedule & Format

BLAST Slam VII Dota 2 is a just under two week event, taking place from 26 May to 07 June. It follows the usual BLAST Slam format, being split into three stages:

  • Group Stage: 26 to 29 May
  • Last Chance: 30 May
  • Playoffs: 04 to 07 June

The group stage kicks off with 12 teams playing in a simple best of one round robin. The top two teams of this round robin advance straight to the upper bracket of the playoffs, 3rd and 4th to round 2 of the last chance decider, and 5th to 8th to round 1 the decider.

Taking place over just one day after the group stage is the last chance decider. This is split into rounds, played in a single elimination format. The teams that win their round 1 matches advance to the playoffs, and the teams that start in round 2 have to win in round 2, then play the round 1 decider.

Last is the playoffs, which will be played in a straightforward double elimination bracket. Teams are eliminated if they lose two series (or in the grand final) and the last one standing takes the BLAST Slam VII trophy!
