The PGL Wallachia actions is not slowing down, as hot off the heels of Season 7, PGL Wallachia Season 8 is kicking off! Once again we’ll see 16 of the best Dota 2 teams battle it out to claim the Wallachia trophy and the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
Below we’ll break down everything you need to know about the event, so let’s dive right in.
PGL Wallachia Season 8 Schedule & Format
PGL Wallachia Season 8 will take place from 16 to 26 April and will be split into two stages: a group stage and the playoffs. The group stage will be played from 16 to 22 April, with a 16 team modified swiss system, where the top eight advance and the bottom eight are eliminated. Teams will play up to five rounds of matches and will secure a playoffs spot once they reach three wins, or be eliminated once they reach three losses.
There will be three days of playoffs, taking place from 24 to 26 March. It’ll be a simple double elimination bracket where all eight teams start in the upper bracket and are eliminated after two series losses.

The prize pool for the event is a whopping $1,000,000 with an impressive $300,000 going to the winner. Among tier 1 events, it has one of the highest splits for the champions!
