While elite teams fight it out at ESL One Birmingham, a lesser known battle concludes on the international stage. The Global Esports Games saw seven countries battle it out to be crowned global champions, with Team Türkiye taking the home the title!
Türkiye Secure Global Esports Games Title in Mumbai
The event, originally set to take place in 2025, is the Global Esports Federation’s flagship event, which happens once a year. Due to a delay it was played from 20 to 22 March, with seven international squads battling it out.
Türkiye managed to dominate their group 3-0, not dropping a single map in their best of three matches, dismantling Mongolia, South Africa, and Argentina on their way to the playoffs. In the playoffs they faced a strong Australia side, before making an impressive comeback against Mongolia in the upper bracket final after going down 0-1.

The Turks headed into the grand final with a 1-0 advantage, once again facing Mongolia, who defeated hosts India in the lower bracket final. This time Türkiye took an early 2-0 lead, which quickly turned into a more competitive 2-1 score line, before closing it out in impressive 3-1 fashion.
The Global Esports Games will return for the next integration of the event in Los Angeles, where we’ll once again see some impressive national teams battle it out.
