Dota 2 returns to Games of the Future in 2026, representing the MOBA category at the exciting event held in Astana, Kazakhstan this year! This year’s edition of GOTF is much bigger than the last, with more teams, a much larger prize pool, and much more action. Here’s everything you need to know.
Games of the Future 2026 Dota 2 Schedule & Format
The Dota 2 event for Games of the Future 2026 is back and bigger than before! 16 teams are invited to compete at the $1,000,000 event, running from 31 July to 05 August.
When it comes to the format, things are fairly standard, with a small twist. The 15 teams are split into four groups of four, with the top team advancing to the quarter finals of the playoffs, second and third to round 1 of the playoffs, and the last being eliminated. The playoffs themselves are a simple single elimination bracket.

How to Watch GOTF 2026 Dota 2
Games of the Future 2026 will be live on the official GOFT channels across Twitch and YouTube.
Matches will also be played live at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace in Astana, with tickets to go on sale shortly before the start of the event.
